James is an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa, Departments of Radiation Oncology and Biomedical Engineering.  For his post-doctoral work, he researched and invented therapeutic CO treatments in the laboratory of Professor Gio Traverso at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He was a Resident in the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital, and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA.
